After 18 months of research, Hyatt has recently come out with a new array of offerings geared toward the frequent traveler. The new features are tailored to guests’ individual preferences, and include a service providing frequently forgotten items, healthy new menu options, and upgraded bath amenities. I have experienced all of these firsthand, and I think road warriors and warriorettes will benefit tremendously! (I’ll be doing an in-depth review this week, so stay tuned!)

To celebrate, we are doing a contest and the winner wins one free night at a U.S. Hyatt Place! To enter, please leave a comment answering the following question: The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is_________. (And let’s be more original than, say, “my computer,” because everyone needs that!) The contest runs through Monday, April 22 at midnight CDT and the winner will be chosen randomly on Tuesday April 23. As always, one entry per person.

The bulkiest item I can’t live without is, no question, my curling iron. My computer is on that list too (of course!) plus my makeup. I’m not sure what it says that 2 out of 3 items are grooming related…..

Good luck!!

  1. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without (for the next few years anyway) are my textbooks for the classes I’m currently in.

  2. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is my vacation hat. It is a firm Aussie Bush Cap so I can’t fold or crunch it up. I have pins from all my families vacations so I have to be careful not to loose it. This hat takes up almost as much room as a pair of cowboy bots but I never go on a family vacation without it. Much to my wife’s dismay.

  3. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is my wifes suitcase. She never packs light

  4. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is my laptop. I always bring my ipad but for some reason I cant bring myself to leave the laptop at home…

  5. The bulkiest item I pack and cannot live without it my kids iPod speakers for her sound machine. Mama needs sleep!

  6. The bulkiest items that I pack and can’t live without would be my shoes as well. Can’t explore very easily without those!

  7. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is my latest boxed book series!

  8. My bulkiest thing I have to pack is my hairdryer…my hair never comes out the way I want it with the hotel available ones!!!

  9. The bulkiest thing I have to pack and can’t live without is my prescription snorkeling mask. I’m way too nearsighted to rely on the ones that rental places have.

  10. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is my daughter’s carseat. I would rather not fool around with an unfamiliar one from the car rental agency, or risk having to use one that may not be of acceptable quality or the right size.

  11. On a business trip-The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is my electronics-gps,camera,laptop etc.

On a Leisure trip-The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is my wife.
I hope she doesn’t read this.

  12. The bulkiest item I can’t live without is diapers. Seriously, one of the reasons we are trying hyatt (long time hiltonite) on our next family trip is that they will have diapers waiting in the room.

  13. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is my running sneakers (I wear my boots on the plane!)

  14. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is a toss up between my running shoes and my blow dryer – they both take up a ridiculous amount of space….

  15. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is my lined jacket. But I have been known to use the zip-out liner in place of a sweater!

  16. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without are good walking/hiking shoes. Since I broke my ankle last year I really need support but oh boy, are they bulky and heavy. If I wear them then it would be my great hairdryer.

  17. . . . my GPS receiver. Husband and I are big geocachers and I can’t possibly travel without an accurate GPSr. Although I must say second choice would be the travel surge protector that has USB charging ports as well.

  18. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is definitely my curling iron!

  19. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is my iceskates when I head up north!

  20. The bulkiest item would be shoes, as I normally need something for walking, something formal (for work) and running shoes.

  21. The bulkiest item I have to pack and can’t live without is my electric shaver and its power cord.

  22. My fiances toiletries: he is a stickler for a brand he is comfortable with for shampoo, toothpaste, body wash and deodorant
It took awhile to convince him to down size his hair gel to a mini bottle because it took up lots of space and he only uses a dime size every few days. He’s not a prissy man at all but he likes what he likes. He’s all about keeping consistency. I never pack that stuff I use the hotel products 🙂

  23. My bulkiest item is my travel pillow for my back on the plane – takes up a lot of space in my carry on because it isn’t a “blow-up” kind but I can’t live without it!

  24. …my camera, and lenses, and (sometimes) waterproof case.

(though when the latter is involved, that usually means bulky SCUBA gear is involved too)
