Since I traveled to Manila this week, I took several flights. During one of the flights I sat down in my seat and frantically typed out an email on my phone, trying to send it before the door closed. Sitting in the aisle, I tried to type and simultaneously keep an eye on the traffic flow so I could get out of the way of the people in my row. All of the sudden an enormous backpack flew past my face and into the seat next to me. It startled me so badly I dropped my phone on the floor.

While I probably (clearly) could have done a better job of watching the aisle, the least that dude could have done was given me a heads up. A “Hi, I’m sitting there,” would have let me know I needed to move and I would have known he was putting the gigantic carryon on the seat next to me. So I guess there is a lesson for everyone: people already sitting pay more attention to the people in the aisle, and people in the aisle should let those seated know that they are sharing the row.

I am in the Tokyo airport as I write this, waiting for my flight to LAX. I get home tomorrow around 7, and I can’t wait to see my guys! Of course, at this point I have been up for close to 24 hours and am getting a little delirious. Hopefully next week I will be back on a regular posting (and sleeping) schedule.  Have a great weekend!
