Packing for different climates

Seems like I’ve been spending all of my time in cold weather locales lately. Not that I mind wearing tights and bootsevery day for every trip (exactly), I’m just really ready to enjoy some warmer weather. Luckily my trip next week takes me to two very different climates. As always, I refuse to pack extra or check my bag, so I have to be very strategic and bring items that can easily be dressed warmer or colder depending on where I am.
One dress two ways gray

I have a gray dress similar to this Anne Klein one, and I love how it’s like a blank slate. You can dress it up or down, wear any color accessories, and add layers or not. For the colder temps I’ll add a cardigan or blazer, sweater tights, and knee-high boots to maximize warmth (adding my awesome black puffy coat when I’m outside). For the warmer temperatures, I like the simplicity of classic navy flats and stud earrings contrasted with a brightly colored necklace. Of course, a fun and functional bag works for every climate! In addition to this dress I plan on bringing my navy slacks, to be worn with a silk blouse in the warmer areas and a cozy sweater when it’s cold.

Mixing and matching—what smart packing is all about!
