My latest business travel reading list

a book cover with arrows and textOne of my resolutions this year was to read more on my work trips. With a bunch of travel coming up next month I wanted to get my business travel reading list together. I wish I had recommendations for you, but, well, you have to actually read to give recommendations! I am hopeful that after next month I can actually give suggestions based on my own experience.

I recently joined a mentor circle, and we will be doing a few book studies over the next year. The most recommended books have been these three:

Everything I’ve heard about these books has been so positive, especially “Grit.” I’m excited to read them!

My sister loves to read even more than I do–her goal is to read 70 books this year (I think she’s my hero). Here are some novels that she recommends:

Now, my goal is to read five new books this whole year, so I probably won’t get to everything on my list in March. But i’m hopeful I’ll get two or three read next month. And if my brain is too tired for reading, I’m super excited about season 2 of Jessica Jones.

Readers, any books to recommend? Any shows you’re excited about?

  1. I just listened to Little Fires Everywhere and really enjoyed it. I’m listening to The Power right now, and it’s fascinating. My favorite recent read was The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. My favorite business read last year was Radical Candor. I have a reputation for being direct, and this gave excellent, implementable advice on channeling that.

  2. Just finished In the Sanctuary of Outcasts by Neil White. A memoir and very insightful.
