Last minute gifts for business travelers

a box of shampoo bottlesDon’t let this scare you, but Christmas is one week away. One week. If you have been extremely busy and left things until the last minute, and you plan to order gifts online, well, the last minute is basically here. And no judgement from me–this afternoon and evening will be spent frantically placing online orders and braving the hordes at a few of my favorite stores. Wish me luck.

ANYWAY. If you need something for the special road warrior in your life, and you need it to be delivered ASAP, here are a few suggestions for last minute gifts for business travelers.

Note: Amazon Prime always gives you two-day shipping, and sometimes even one-day or same-day. The caveat is that your order may take a few days to be prepared to ship. Make sure you look at the “arrives by” date before you order. Also, Target Red Card holders get free two-day shipping, plus 5% off.

EReaders. You may have heard this a few dozen times, but my Kindle Paperwhite is my favorite. So helpful on long travel days–lightweight but holds up to 1500 books, and doesn’t hurt my eyes to read for hours.

Books. Whether it’s an eBook or an actual physical copy, books are another great gift for travelers who love to read. A few books on my list: Yes, Please! by Amy Poehler, How Women Rise by Sally Helgesen, and China Rich Girlfriend by Kevin Kwan. Note: EBooks are the BEST for people who wait until literally the last minute to buy gifts. Available instantly!

Headphones/earbuds. As I mentioned in my Cyber Monday post, noise canceling headphones or earbuds are great for anyone who travels a lot (especially in coach!).

Scarf or Pashmina. I have a pashmina in my travel purse at all times, and get so much use out of it. It’s an accessory, blanket, pillow, and (potentially) a napkin in a pinch.

Luxury self care. Sephora has a ton of great holiday sets for travelers, and the website says if you order by Thursday 12-20 at noon you’ll get it by the 24th. My favorites are the Drunk Elephant Rise & Glow Duo, First Aid Beauty Clean Canyon, and Moroccanoil Moisture & Shine Travel Kit.

Clothes. Plenty of places still have huge sales AND discounts on shipping. In addition, Old Navy and Gap will let you avoid some of the crazy crowds by ordering online and picking up in store. Gap has most of their stuff on 50% off and Old Navy is as much as 75% off. Gap makes some of my favorite work pants, including their Skinny Ankle Pants in a bunch of colors for 50% off. My favorite ponte blazer comes from Old Navy, which is currently 20% off.

And for items I’m buying for others…..my sisters are getting these awesome wine glasses with lids (great for watching kids outside without spilling your wine!), the Home Warrior is getting something he wants called a Trivac, and the Mini Warrior (aged 6, hard to believe) really wants a glow-in-the-dark rubber chicken. Oh boy! And for stocking stuffers, World Market has a bunch of fun stuff that is a little silly but also useful.

Readers, anything you still need to buy? Tell me I’m not the only one frantically filling my cart!
