A few weeks ago, I met a friend to do some brainstorming for a non-profit group we belong to. As she whipped out her Macbook Pro, I couldn’t help but notice the lovely blue keyboard. Turns out it was a keyboard protector. Evidently several months ago she was working and spilled a glass of water on her laptop, which destroyed it. When she bought her new one they recommended a cover. Not only does it keep grime off of her keys, it keeps debris and most liquids off of the most important part—the motherboard.
As I remembered the time my water spilled on my Kindle while flying, I knew that I had to have one. The possibility of destroying my eReader was bad enough—I couldn’t imagine doing that to my laptop. The good news is that they are super cheap-usually under $10- and available for most systems. The bad news is that none of the cute blue or rainbow ones are made for my Dell Latitude. I found covers for Sony, Lenovo, Mac, HP, and Dell.
Readers, anyone use a keyboard protector? Which one?

I use the Kuzy keyboard protector for my MacBook – it’s great preventing dust, food, spills, etc.

My wife and I both use them for our MacBooks. Don’t know the brand, but got them from the Apple Store a few years ago.
Not sure if this is the same one as mentioned already but I have used this one for work and it is pretty good. It is on Amazon.
