I actually have a tie for my favorite place to go in the fall. The obvious choice is somewhere like New England (or anywhere Not Texas) where the leaves change. I went to Pennsylvania once in the fall and driving through the mountains was amazingly beautiful. But the non-obvious choice is Napa Valley. The Home Warrior and I took a fabulous trip there a few years ago during October and it couldn’t have been better.
So, Readers, where is your favorite place to visit during the fall? Good luck!!
Road Warriorette received a free night stay at Country Inn & Suites.
Maroon bells outside of Aspen, Co
Southern Oregon
Chicago
Colorado
Chicago for me!
Fall is my favorite time to visit the Florida panhandle – beautiful weather and empty white sand beaches!
Tennessee!
Any vineyard in France.
Newtown, PA!
Biloxi, MS the past two years for fall break. Not a lot of fall foliage there though.
Europe on cheaper airfares!
Tampa
I currently live in Colorado where falls mean nice weather, pretty aspens turning yellow and the occasional snowfall… But having grown up in Ohio I really love going back there. Fall is much prettier in the Midwest / east coast due to the variety of colors and foliage. Also there is a crisp feeling in the air and a lot of fun fall activities that remind me of my childhood (apple picking, pumpkin picking and carving etc.)
Shenandoah National Park in Virginia
Oregon would seal the deal for me!
I like Colorado or North Carolina. Can’t beat them!
You stole my best place. Napa. I love the crush season the whole valley smells of crushed grapes and the wineries are in full swing so that you can see what really goes on. And, the restaurants feature the best of what the valley has to offer. OMG… I’m leaving now!
Ouray CO
Asheville, NC. Love that place. The Blue Ridge is so beautiful this time of year. I would go visit the Biltmore House and Gardens, hike, and of course eat at some of the great resturants in the area, then I would drive to Brevard, Land of Waterfalls, because that is my hometown and I have not been back in a while.
New England
Oakville, Ontario!
North Carolina
Northern NY
Hershey, pa. All the hot chocolate and s’mores you can eat!!
Adirondack mountains….. Amazing.

Right where I live, North Carolina
My home state, North Carolina
The mountains of Tennessee
I love West Texas in the fall!
Michigan is great with the changing the leaves.
Las Vegas as I’ve waited since at least May to go.
New York’s Hudson Valley is gorgeous this time of year!
Florida, where it is still warm.
Pittsburgh, PA
Shenandoah Valley
I’d go with Ventura, California.
Vermont, without a doubt. They (the people AND the trees) make the most of it. But Stick Season comes sooner than you think, so go early. Columbus Day is usually the perfect peak season excursion thataway.
California coast, great after the summer crowds die down.
Missouri ozarks. Of course, the folliage is dependent upon the weather gods!
Any Asia Country will be my fall dream place.
Shenandoah drive in Virginia.
I love visiting places in the off-peak season (fewer tourists), so currently: London.
Vermont
Boston, Mass!
Driving through the Colorado mountains.
Southwest Colorado: Durango, Telluride, Montrose, Crested Butte.
