Sheath dresses are often the foundation of any business traveler’s wardrobe. Ponte knit is a great fabric for business casual because it is comfortable, doesn’t wrinkle, and is heavy enough to skim over any imperfections. Sheath dresses can be worn a multitude of ways in all seasons, and can do a lot to stretch a wardrobe. I talk a good game about packing skirts, but honestly I will reach for a dress over a skirt any day. That’s why I love sheath dresses, as they can be worn over a long or short sleeved shirt, or under a cardigan, and still look professional.
It’s so easy to get stuck in a gray-black-camel rut in the winter, so I try to infuse my winter packing with a shot of color. (For another way to add color to winter outfits, check out these amazing blue pants that Corporette highlighted today.) The sheath featured here is from Lands End, and is available in Black for $69 and in Smokey Plum and Moroccan Blue (lucky sizes only) for $35.

I LOVE the green coat as well – where is it from?
