I’m just now starting to discover the BB cream craze that has swept the beauty world. For those of you who are unfamiliar, BB stands for “beauty balm” and in theory this one tube will do the job of moisturizer, primer, sunscreen, skin treatment, concealer, and foundation. While it’s easy for me to buy a new eye shadow or lipstick before running out of my current version, I don’t usually buy things like moisturizer or powder until using all of my current one. For this reason, I haven’t yet bought a BB cream for my whole face (although as soon as my tinted moisturizer runs out I am getting one for sure!)

However, whether it’s due to having a toddler who thinks waking up at 5am is normal, super long travel days, or simply getting older the circles and puffiness under my eyes has gotten too noticeable for my liking. So I headed to my favorite place, Sephora, to pick up something to cover up my under-eye carryon baggage. The makeup person showed me the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream for Eyes, and I love it. I’ve used it for two weeks, and not only does it conceal the evidence of late nights, the puffiness I’ve had my whole life has gotten better. The applicator is super easy to use, it goes on creamy and blends well, and once I put powder over it the stuff doesn’t move all day. One note: supposedly BB cream is supposed to be a primer, but I have found that it goes on much more smoothly if I use a primer underneath it.
