You guys. It is so hot here in Texas, and everywhere I’m going for the next month is the same. Sure, summer is the time of bright colors and swimming, but it’s also the time for sweat and humidity. Neither of which contributes to a good look at work! A couple of years ago I wrote about my favorite tools to protect your beauty routine from humidity. Here is this year’s edition of summer business travel beauty must haves, to make sure you look your best even when the temperature is high.
It all starts with the toner. The Michael Todd Blue Green Algae Toner is cooling, gets rid of grime and dirt, and sets the stage for my moisturizer.
I first got the regular version of this mascara as part of my Birchbox subscription and loved it so much I bought a full-size version. But with summer humidity I somehow end up wearing more mascara under my eyes than on my lashes. Sigh. But waterproof saves the day! With the Mac False Lashes Waterproof Mascara my lashes look long and gorgeous all day, without the ugly smudges.
I’ve used the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer for several years and will never use anything else. The regular primer works great for normal days but for extra long travel days or especially humid days I also use the Undereye Primer and Eyeshadow Primer, all of which come as part of this primer set.
The Supergoop! Tinted CC Cream with spf 40 is amazing. It’s tinted so it evens out my complexion, has anti-aging properties, has spf 40 so I don’t need a separate sunscreen, and moisturizes my skin without weighing it down. Love multitaskers that let me pack fewer items!
If I’m trying to stretch my blow-out one extra day then dry shampoo is the best, and I’ve tried a bunch of different ones. Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo is hands-down my favorite. It smells great, disappears quickly, wicks up excess oils, and gives my hair nice body. Great for the mornings after late-night arrivals.
Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel is my Number One favorite beauty trick in the summer. All of the others on the list are great but if I can only pick one, thing this is it. Apply it anywhere you may have chafing and I promise, it will change your life. I’ve also used it as primer in a pinch and it works pretty darn well.
Readers, what beauty products are you loving for business travel these days?

For a dry hair spray, switch to powder instead so you don’t have to fill up your liquids bag. I use Aveda’s, and it is great, perfect to use with a curling iron–no one can tell you are going an extra day without a wash.
