Did you know that over 120 million Americans commute to work, and that the average commute is 25 minutes? Crazy! For business travelers, that gets way longer. More than once, I have flown two hours for a three hour meeting, then back home again all in the same day. There are a lot of tools that can make a trip to work easier, whether it’s a drive around the corner or a flight across the country. One of those tools is a good travel mug.
A few months ago, I found the Contigo Addison water bottle for a great price at Costco, and immediately fell in love. After I wrote about it, Contigo reached out to me to see if I would be willing to review a few of their other products, and that if I did they would give several products away to my readers. Sounds like a win to me!
Contigo has a ton of different water bottles and travel mugs, and they all have their own special features. Something they all have in common, though, is that they don’t leak or spill, are BPA free, and can be washed in the dishwasher. (After several years of having water bottles and coffee mugs that have to be hand washed this is VERY exciting.) I tested two products: the Madison water bottle and the West Loop travel mug. This worked great for me, as basically the only two beverages I drink are coffee and water (with the occasional Diet Coke).
The Madison is super easy to use one handed—just press the button and drink. Once you stop pressing the button, the patented Autoseal® lid automatically seals so there are no leaks. It has an integrated clip so you can attach it to your purse or backpack. I took it all over the place, including car trips and plane trips, and it took anything I could give it. It was dropped on the floor several times (on accident, I swear) and you would never know to look at it. One thing I really like about it (and the Addison as well) is that it has numbers written on it so it’s easy to keep track of how much water you’re drinking. This is an especially great option for people who have had bad experiences using water bottles with integrated straws during flights. It comes in two sizes, either 24 or 32 oz.
I have had the hardest time finding a mug that actually keeps my coffee warm, but the West Loop coffee mug worked great. Contigo says that the double wall vacuum insulated stainless steel will keep liquids hot for four hours (and cold for 12 hours) but my coffee was warm way longer than that. It also has the patented Autoseal® lid, so I didn’t have to worry about spills or leaks even when the Mini Warrior knocked it off the table. (I didn’t notice any dents either—this thing is tough!) It fit perfectly in my car cupholder, and enjoyed hot coffee all the way to Dallas! For those of you who prefer a handle (like my husband) they also have the Randolph travel mug available.
So you may be wondering, what is the contest?? I am giving away not one, not two, but FIVE Contigo travel mugs and water bottles to my readers. Here is how to enter:
- Like Contigo on Facebook and follow them on Twitter
- Leave a comment here answering the following question: The most important item I need for my commute is ___________________. For me, the most important items I need for my commute are my music and my coffee!
And that’s it! As always, only one entry per person. The contest starts today and ends on Wednesday, July 3 at midnight central. The five winners will be contacted on Friday, July 5.
