Hooray spring!! After what felt like a never ending winter I am so incredibly ready for warm weather outside, and color and patterns in my wardrobe. For spring, I put together 10 essential pieces. These are very different from a winter wardrobe! That one was very focused on pants, where this capsule wardrobe is more dresses/skirts. My goal was to find pieces that could be worn together—every top can be worn with every bottom, and every “completer” piece (to borrow from Putting Me Together’s lexicon) can be worn with every single thing. A nice thing about springtime is that layering is optional, so the dresses can be worn by themselves for the simplest outfits.
My essential spring pieces for a business travel wardrobe:
- 2 jersey dresses
- 1 skirt
- 1 pair of cropped pants
- 2 blouses
- 1 cardigan
- 1 blazer
- 2 pairs of flats
With these pieces you can put together tons of outfits, but here are 8 examples:
The individual pieces are:
- Boden Annie Dress ($148)
- Lands’ End Elbow Sleeve Ponte Dress ($79)
- Banana Republic Sloan Fit Pencil Skirt ($79.50)
- Ann Taylor Seersucker Crop Pants ($89)
- M&Co Floral Print Shell ($38)
- Modcloth Envision the Excitement top ($35)
- House of Fraser Oasis Crew Cardigan ($39)
- Yumi Ponte Blazer with White Piping Trim ($100)
- Nine West Speakup Pointed Toe Flats ($69)
- Nine West Cool Dude Flats ($32)

While your color choices are not mine (actually only the green would change), I love the versatility of these pieces and will try this concept on an upcoming trip.
