3 budget-friendly carry-on suitcases that fit within 22”x14”x9” guidelines

Every business traveler needs a great suitcase! And you don’t always have to spend an arm and a leg to get it. There are plenty of great budget-friendly carry-on suitcases that will easily fit in an overhead bin. These three are all right around $100!

Anytime you’re buying a suitcase there are a number of key features to look for, including:

  • Quality construction
  • Weight
  • Size
  • Roominess
  • Handle length
  • Good pockets and dividers
  • Spinner wheels
  • Easy to navigate in crowded airports

Travelpro Maxlite 5 Carry-on. (Above, left.) Travelpro is one of my favorite brands for luggage, and the Maxlite line is the most popular luggage line among Road Warriorette readers. Their latest edition is even lighter than the Maxlite 4, and is sturdy, has plenty of pockets, and expands if you need it. It’s available in five colors and, frankly, the lining is adorable. Price is normally $140 but after sales and discounts it’s $104 right now.

Delsey Paris Helium 21” Carry-on. (Above, middle.) This is Road Warriorette readers’ favorite *hardside* suitcase. It’s noted for being maneuverable, lightweight, extremely well made, with plenty of space for packing all your necessities. It’s available in six colors, starting at $90.

London Fog Cambridge II 20” Spinner. (Above, right.) My sister actually has this bag, and she can’t stop raving about it. It’s adorable (I love houndstooth) and has several clever pockets, including two shoe pockets. In addition it’s super light and the wheels are very responsive. Available in black and brown houndstooth for $103.

Readers, what suitcase are you using these days?
