Poll:  When on business trips, do you eat lunch?

a man in a suit and tie

Recently I was driving to work, listening to the radio, and I heard a story about minifasting.  Essentially minifasting is going about fifteen hours without eating, twice per week (consult your doctor before trying something like this).  The idea is that it’s supposed to help you lose weight better than some traditional low fat diets.  Studies…

5 quality pieces of carryon luggage under $200

a black suitcase with a white background

Not too long ago I did a post asking readers what their favorite carryon luggage brands were.  When the results were tallied Tumi came in with the most votes. Tumi makes great carryon luggage, and while my readers have lots of great things to say about them they can be very expensive (upwards of over…

Packing for different climates

a woman's outfit with different types of clothing

Seems like I’ve been spending all of my time in cold weather locales lately. Not that I mind wearing tights and bootsevery day for every trip (exactly), I’m just really ready to enjoy some warmer weather. Luckily my trip next week takes me to two very different climates. As always, I refuse to pack extra…

Etiquette tip: Wait to put your coat in the overhead bin!

a model airplane flying in the sky

I have been on the road a lot already this year, traveling literally from coast to coast. Some places are having lovely weather right now, but it seems like most of the country is in the grips of record-cold temps. I saw that today in Nashville it is -2! Crazy. What does all this cold…

Cell phone calls in public places

a sign with a phone icon

I was enjoying dinner on a recent trip when I had a little disruption.  Two ladies across from the restaurant from me were eating when one of them received a phone call.  She took the call, which is not a big surprise these days. But what was surprising is that she took the call on…

Improving flight comfort.

a grey pillow with a hole in the center

So the other day I saw a story that, while not surprising, was quite concerning.  Spring Airlines, a Chinese budget carrier, would like to offer standing tickets for their flights.  Can you imagine flying on a plane like you would on a subway or bus??  Sounds delightful.  When Airbus put in a patent recently for saddle seats I was horrified…
