I am probably the last person on earth to realize the possibilities of streaming videos. I’ve known for years if I miss an episode of Grey’s Anatomy I can watch it on ABC.com. And about a year ago the Home Warrior and I got onboard with Netflix streaming. Once or twice I’ve used it in my hotel room to watch a movie on my computer when nothing good was on, and I really appreciated that.

Recently, though, I discovered something new: the Netflix app. I’ve had it on my phone for months, and I don’t know what I thought it did. Maybe let you put movies in your queue? But did you know you can watch streaming video on your phone? It’s like my life has changed!! Once I discovered I could watch Glee or Star Trek anytime I wanted, it was like a whole new world opened up for me. Sitting at the airport for two hours because my flight is delayed? No problem! I’ll just watch Ironman 2. Stuck in line at the grocery store? Old episodes of Seinfeld make it fun!

To make things even better, it turns out that ABC, NBC, and CBS all have apps too (is there a Fox app that I’ve missed?). So now I can watch last week’s Grey’s Anatomy anywhere! It’s the little things that make life better. And streaming video makes my traveling life a lot more fun!
