The search for the perfect travel purse can feel never ending. You find a super cute bag with great pockets but no zipper. Or an incredibly functional bag that is also incredibly boring. Or worse yet, a bag that seems to be everything you wished for, and then breaks on your second use. Business travelers are hard on their purses, and we need bags that are incredibly tough and well made, with lots of pockets, that zips, and (hopefully) makes you happy to look at.
If you’ve read this blog for any period of time, you know that I love my Lo and Sons O.G. I have had the black one for close to three years, and is the best travel purse I’ve ever used (see my original review here). Recently, Lo and Sons came out with a number of improvements to the O.G. that have made it better than ever, not to mention some beautiful new colors. They sent me a Sky Blue O.G. to review, and here are my thoughts.
The new features:
Messenger strap. My old O.G. had two handles. The new O.G. still has those, and they fit over all of my coats just fine. However, if you have super bulky clothes on or just don’t want to use those straps, it now comes with a messenger strap as an extra carrying option.
Padding on interior. There is additional padding now on the interior that keeps your laptop and other belongings even safer.
Even more pockets. The O.G. has a pocket for your laptop, another large pocket for folders or magazines, plus two smaller pockets and a zippered pocket, all on the inside. They now also have three zippered pockets on the outside, and one of them has slots for pens, a passport, and other small items.
Something I noticed, in addition to the obvious new features, is that the bag seems to distribute the weight inside better than before. When traveling, I found I wanted to keep checking to make sure I had my laptop because it felt too light. Also, one of my favorite things about the O.G. is that it holds so much stuff—today I had my laptop, a Kindle, magazines, wallet and phone, a huge water bottle, a scarf, a jacket, and a few random things—it zipped just fine, plus held its shape. And however much stuff I put in it, it will still fit under the seat in front of me.
Finally, I can’t do a review without talking about the colors. Over the past year, Lo and Sons has offered an array of new colors for the O.G. including hot pink, royal blue, purple, and of course, the Sky Blue. The Sky Blue is a lovely, vibrant shade of turquoise, and I love it SO MUCH. I got a comment a few days ago wondering if it is professional enough. My opinion is that unless you are in an incredibly conservative office environment, it will definitely come across as professional. However, if you’re concerned about being overly bright, the black is classic for a reason.
Note: The website says it will only hold a 13″ laptop, but mine is 14.1 and it fits fine.
Overall, I can’t recommend this bag enough to frequent travelers. It is incredibly functional, will hold everything a road warriorette needs, and looks great doing it. I get compliments everywhere I go!

Crossbody and pockets. The weight distribution is not something I had thought about before reading this,..but so important!
Secure but easily accessible pockets for travel documents and cell phone .
First & foremost thank you so much for this opportunity hun. The most important thing for my travel bag is “It has to be comfortable to use” coz I’ll be carrying it most of the time of my travel. And this Lo&Sons bag is definitely comfortable to use for sure.

The perfect travel bag has to be a balance between functionality and weight. Also, don’t forget style. Lo and Sons bags are perfect!

Hands down, organization! The other thing I know I would love about the O.G. is the back panel sleeve that secures your bag over the luggage handle. Would make business/airport travel with a laptop much easier on my shoulders!
Is it shallow to say style is my number one?! It definitely helps if it’s light weight and a good size. But no matter how many great travel qualities it has, I’m not carrying a bag if it’s not cute! 🙂

Pockets and zippers, zippers and pockets!!
I ned a back with lots of pockets and compartments. I hate having things in my hands when I’m walking through a crowded airport so being able to stash important things (ID, Boarding Pass, Phone) and then find them again quickly is key! I use the O.M.G. bag for work every single day but have been lusting over one of the colored O.G. bags for traveling!
A lot of compartments and I love cross body purses for traveling.
Pockets, pockets, pockets. For me, organization is key when traveling and the OG definitely meets that need!!
Pockets! I like to be able to find my things in a flash and can’t when the bag is just big with no compartments.

My travel bag has to not only fit my personality but also my family needs. I don’t like to carry a purse, a back pack and diaper bag in airports. I like one bag that can accommodate all. This is that bag! I watch the video on the Lo & Son’s website all the time and think to myself, that is the perfect everything bag for me! Now I just need it!
Size and function, I want a bag that is not to big but enough to fit the essentials and still leave a bit of free room for last minute things. I want the bag to work for the airport and other modes of traveling so that it saves me space so I don’t have to pack more than one bag to travel with.

– Lightweight yet sturdy
– Fits my laptop and under my seat
– Can carry a ton but due to efficient internal organization, still looks professional outside (and not lumpy!)

Pockets!!! I need pockets to organize things so bag has to be big enough to hold quite a few items but it has to be comfortable enough that it won’t kill my shoulders or hit my fellow passengers as I walk through the airport. And then of course it has to be pretty, duh!
It’s got to be lightweight enough on its own that it doesn’t kill me when I load it up with travel stuff!

Organized compartments that zip! Makes it easier to get through security and to find my Chapstick when I can’t pull my bag all the way out from under my seat because the man sitting next to me is all spread out!
Durability and security — it’s not unusual for my travel purses to weigh 15+ lbs, so they really need to be able to handle that abuse. I’m also typically carrying important documents and devices, things that would be super difficult to replace on the fly, so I need to be sure everything is safe.
Has to be a bag that doesn’t pinch my neck and distributes everything evenley in the bag – also one that can fit in even the tinest overhead compartments!
Will it fit in overhead storage OR under the seat, and will all the other fashionistas say “she looks confident in that style, very unique” because travel bags are like an accessory to your everyday accessories!
I look for something I am willing to reach for on a travel day. I don’t want to lug around something I’m afraid to get dirty or scratched, etc. I do want it to look nice, though.
I need it to do a multitude of things!! Be my overnight bag, my gym bag, my travel bag – I’m always on the GO and need a bag to keep up with me! 🙂 LOVE LO & SONS! 🙂

The ideal travel bag has to hold my laptop (with room for some other stuff) and be lightweight. Good looks don’t hurt, either.

I will not even consider a bag if it does not have a pass through to secure it to my suitcase handle. Nothing more annoying than a bag losing its balance sitting on top of a suitcase en route to/from your gate!
