Wardrobe Wednesday: Jersey dresses

Each week Road Warriorette features a clothing item that is great for travel. Do you have a favorite? Send it to RoadWarriorette @ gmail.com.

Dresses are great for travel year around, and especially in the summer. Rather than worrying about adding layers (and therefore Evan Picone jersey dressheat!), the ideal dress will stand on its own. Just add a necklace or bracelet and you are good to go!

Jersey dresses are my number one go-to for business travel. They are comfortable, will stretch, and resist wrinkles. While you can get jersey at all price points, be careful with lower-price points. Lower end fabric is often (not always) thin, and can emphasize problem areas. The best jersey is slightly thicker, skimming your body instead of clinging. The Evan Picone dress (pictured) would be a perfect addition to a business trip packing list. The print is lovely, it is knee-length, the neckline is flattering but offers adequate coverage, and it received excellent reviews. I like it with the nude heel, and would add a contrasting, perhaps yellow, bracelet or necklace.
